The Wisdom of Walt Disney
Through the ages there have been many great people who’s words are as memorable now, as they were back then; many Disney quotes rank high amongst these words of wisdom.
You can probably remember many of the Disney movies, and, you may even be able to quote lines from them off of the top of your head, but would it come as much of a shock to you to find that a lot of the Disney quotes are as applicable to modern day situations, as they were to the predicament that the characters in the movies found themselves in?
What about the Walt Disney quotes like; “How could I be so stupid?” This is going to riun the company!” taken from Monsters Inc. are not a great example of Disny quotes we should consider, being the state of the economy during the first part of the twenty-first century. However “Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” is more apropriate. What do we still do? We swim, and swim, and swim, are you my conscience?” from Finding Nemo, seems to fit perfectly with the times.
Walt Disney was a man way ahead of most contemporaries, with his futuristic concepts, and his clear understanding of people, evident in the theme parks he created. A great many Walt Disney quotes highlight the insight of the man.
While he didn’t actually write the movie classics coming out of the Disney studios, anyone who has read the original versions of the stories will know that they have been substantially altered; many of the classic movie lines being absent from the original short stories, and it’s clear that many of these great Disney quotes wouldn’t have been in there if he hadn’t approved of them, and what they stood for.
For anyone lucky enough, yes, that also includes ‘old enough’; to have seen the weekly shows where Walt Disney would introduce the stories, as well as talk at the end, you’ll know that there were many wonderful Disney quotes that are now covered by the mists of time, and not as well known as those in the movies, but these Walt Disney quotes are just as important.
In the future then, whenever you find yourself in hysterics watching Donald Duck’s latest slip ups, or you are listening intently to the words Merlin spoke in “The Sword and The Stone”, have a closer listen to the wonderful Disney quotes and see how closely they might apply to your own life.
So, if I may quote a wise man by saying “When you go after honey with a balloon, a great thing is not to let the bees know you are coming.”
