The Most Memorable Tom Cruise Movies Throughout The Years

Whether or not you like the guy, it is tough to deny that Tom Cruise is a worldwide superstar. Cruise has been in the Hollywood spotlight for almost 30 years, and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Sure, he’s had his share of duds over the years, but he has also starred in some amazing films.

Whether or not you are a fan of him as a person, it is hard to argue with Tom Cruise’s list of movies that he has starred in. Here are some of my favorites.

The first movie I will mention also happened to be my Halloween costume last year, and that film was Risky Business. The scene in this movie where Cruise is running around his house in sunglasses and socks has become an iconic scene.

Jerry Maguire was arguably the greatest role of Tom Cruise’s career. It was probably as close as he will ever get to winning an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and had it been released in a less competitive year, he very well may have won.

One film which I feel deserves to be mentioned is A Few Good Men. One interesting fact about this crime thriller is that writer Aaron Sorkin wrote the whole screenplay on napkins while he was working at a theater as a low level employee. Suffice it to say that this film was his big break.

One other great film of Tom Cruise’s is also an iconic film, and that is none other than Top Gun. This was good as early 1990s action got. Everything from the flight scenes to the dialogue is great in this movie.

Rain Man featured Dustin Hoffman portraying an autistic savant and was arguably his best role of all time, but Tom Cruise could not have been better for the supporting role of Charlie Babbit.

On a more comedic note, Tropic Thunder featured Tom Cruise as a ridiculous movie executive and helped put the iconic actor back in the spotlight after a few off years. Supposedly they are making a spinoff based around the character Les Grossman.
