The Best Pesci Performances Of All Time
Joe Pesci is one of the most underrated actors of the past few decades. Maybe that is because he has taken ample time off over the last ten years and has faded from the public spotlight. Not that he was ever one to enjoy the Hollywood fame, but there are very few movies that he has been a part of in recent years.
It is a shame that Joe Pesci has not been in more movies recently, as he is such an incredible actor. The following movies are some of my favorites that he has starred or been featured in.
The first movie that I will discuss is one of the few sequels that Joe Pesci has starred in, and that film is none other than Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. While the original Home Alone is a true children’s classic, I enjoyed the sequel even more. Pesci was hilarious in both these movies.
In Goodfellas, Joe Pesci plays the part of Tommy DeVito, a gangster in the truest sense of the word. This has to be one of the best mafia movies of all time, and any time it is on television, I feel the need to watch it in its entirety.
While he may not have been the starring role, one movie that I certainly enjoyed featuring Joe Pesci was A Bronx Tale. This film reunited the duo of Pesci and De Niro, and it would not be the last time they would star in a film together.
I definitely need to include My Cousin Vinny on my top five Joe Pesci film list. This movie holds a special place in my heart. For one reason or another, this was a film that was on quite often in my household growing up.
One other fantastic Pesci film that is worthy of discussion is The Good Shepherd. For one reason or another, this movie never got the critical acclaim it deserved. Maybe it was because it was released on a smaller scale, but I certainly enjoyed this movie.
As of now, this is my list. I have still not seen Once Upon a Time in America, which is supposed to be excellent as well. That film just may make the cut.
