Is The Samsung UE55C9000 Worth Considering?

The Samsung UE55C9000 is coming out on the market fairly soon. It will be one of the 3D televisions that are starting to get some press these days. Big budget movies have made the third dimension popular again for showing movies, and now people might be able to start watching television in 3D from home as well.

The biggest difference with this television is that it is planning on being 3D ready. TV’s that can broadcast in three dimensions are set to be the next big thing. With the popularity of so many movies coming out in 3D, these sets may be ready to take the market by storm. They may not make it though, as they will, like all new technologies, be affected by the problems that face any new tech toy.

The back lighting of the LED makes the picture very sharp. You can watch your favorite shows and movies and now they will be shown in glorious three dimensions. It can make things seem more lifelike, and really bring out take you to a new “dimension” in television viewing.

Initially the costs of these sets will be rather high. Though they are not too much higher than other large flat screen televisions. If you can afford them, though, then they can really give you a whole new feel to your home. They may seem like something out of science fiction, but they are very real and will be out before you know it.

There is no way to know how big the consumer demand is likely to be for these TV’s. They are a new technology and new technologies have always had the problem of working out glitches that occur once they hit the ground. With the costs being high in the beginning, if they can’t perform up to expectation then they may not be able to establish themselves in a competitive market.

Some people may be old enough to remember Beta tapes. These were similar to what became known as VHS. However, even though some would argue that Beta tapes produced a higher quality of picture and sound, VHS ultimately won out in the home video market. This was because they were marketed better, and once people bought VHS players, they were unlikely to also buy Beta players.

More recently there was the battle between Blue-ray and HD DVD’s. Those two different formats were virtually the same in many respects, but with small differences. The battle skewed towards Blue ray because they were able to get in with game stations that made them more readily available than players for the HD DVDs. This made them more marketable, and ultimately they seem to have won out on today’s market.

No one knows if the Samsung UE55C9000 is going to be the one TV to break through and take down the 3D television market. Some people have said that it could do it, but there are a lot of other televisions that are trying to get the 3D technology working as well.
