an inquiry of an ongoing career in modeling
We humans are creatures ruled by our emotions and thoughts. It is in our nature to act and say things according to what we believe and what we feel. Thus, it can be easy for many of us to assume the roles of various characters, as we sympathize or relate with them, in movies and film.
An actor can assume two types of roles: antagonist and protagonist. The main character or hero does not have to always play the part of the protagonist; he can be an antagonist as well. If you’re going to get into acting, you should make sure and look for a reputable talent agency who’s not going to take all your money. So do your homework, don’t hand over your cash, and, just for your own enlightenment, keep in mind the very nature of the story itself.
Actors are channels of communication. They use a mix of verbal and non-verbal forms of expression to send out a message, as part of their role and as mandated by the script and director. The actors therefore have to be really good in setting aside their true identities and in playing their parts of the story, unless the characters they’re depicting are their own in real life. Reality TV has made this its own special genre.
The events in a plot usually follow a pattern or sequence dictated by cause/effect or coincidence. The hero goes through a series of events, makes judgment, takes action, and is led to certain outcomes. The outcome of a story can be happy, wherein the hero survives the challenges and becomes victorious in the end. It can also be tragic, wherein the hero fails the test or dies.
It is also vital for all types of actors to work well with the other actors in the play or motion picture. This way the storyline can be expressed well to the audience, the world that is created can be realistic. Sometimes this world is made the most real not by the main characters, but by the supporting ones.
Meanwhile, in comedic and parody stories, the hero strives to entertain the audience and make ‘em laugh. Generally, the hero makes use of local and global issues and turns them around into funny stuff. The hero may also assume the role of someone who frequently makes mishaps, perhaps out of ignorance or stupidity. Then in addition, the hero may take up a serious role but succeeds in making the audience laugh because of his stiffness or awkwardness in the middle of a rather comedic setting.
As with most of films or plays, the hero usually has an object of his strong desire or passion. This is the heroine’s part of the story. The heroine can be a friend, a relative, or a lover. Most adventure stories would portray the heroine as a damsel in distress waiting to be rescued by her knight in shining armor. Nevertheless, there are those that portray a skillful hero partnered by an equally strong and equally powerful heroine.
Now all these elements, actors, directors, and staff could not work on something worthwhile unless there is a story or script worth filming or staging. The role of scriptwriters should therefore be emphasized. Without a great plot or story, there is no film or play to begin with. The message that actors and all the others want to communicate actually originates and resonates from the heart and mind of the scriptwriter.
