A Film Enthusiast’s Favorite Directors In The Movie Industry

There is no doubt how one of the crucial members, if not the most important member, of any successful movie is the director. The director is the man or woman with a vision, the person with the master plan. These days, there are so many great directors that are worthy of praise.

But which directors working today are the best? Here are some of my favorites.

Martin Scorsese is simply put, one of the best. When all is said and done, he will go down as one of the greatest of all time. If you are not all too familiar with Scorsese’s work, some of his better movies to see include Raging Bull, Gangs Of New York, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.

While I am not the biggest Spike Lee fan, it is hard to deny his talent. Some of Spike Lee’s best films have come out in recent years, and those include 25th Hour, starring Edward Norton, and Inside Man, starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen.

One director who has been quietly putting out great movies without getting much recognition until recently is Danny Boyle. Danny Boyle finally won the Academy Award for Best Director, as well as Best Picture, for Slumdog Millionaire.

David Fincher is another director that I really enjoy. All his movies have his certified trademark. Some of my favorite David Fincher films include, but are not limited to, Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac. I cannot wait for The Social Network, his next film.

Another fantastic director worthy of mentioning is Quentin Tarantino. Few directors have such a distinct style as Tarantino does. Even in films that he wrote, but did not direct, you can still tell it’s a Tarantino movie.

When it comes down to it, the above five directors are my favorites. Any movie any of these geniuses create I will line up at theaters to see.
