A Few Of The Greatest Movies By The Incredible Director, Martin Scorsese

Plain and simple, Martin Scorsese is easily one of the best directors of all time. It would seem that any film that he takes control of is destined for greatness. When going through his catalog of movies, it surely appears that most of his movies are incredible. At the very least, they all have his signature touch.

But which of Scorsese’s great movies have been his best? Here are my personal top five favorites.

It goes without saying that one movie I have to include on this list is Taxi Driver. This is an incredibly interesting film, in that it is a commentary on the Vietnam War without ever showing the war itself. It’s not a war movie; it’s a movie about the effects of war on soldiers. It’s also about a crazy taxi driver.

Gangs Of New York was not a film that I immediately wanted to see. It was only after I heard so many positive things about this DiCaprio and Scorsese collaboration that I decided to see it. Daniel Day Lewis was spectacular as Bill the Butcher.

One Martin Scorsese movie that I absolutely loved was Goodfellas. This movie often gets thrown around in the discussion with The Godfather Saga as the best mafia movie of all time. The crazy thing is, Goodfellas is based on a true story.

I would be remiss to make a list of Martin Scorsese movies without giving praise to The Last Waltz. This is more of a music documentary than true movie, but many consider this to be the best of its kind. This film chronicles the last concert of the legendary group, The Band.

Finally, I have to give mention to Casino. People go back and forth about which film is better, Casino or Goodfellas. In the end, it is a matter of personal preference, and my favorite of these two is Casino.

Hopefully you found one or films on this epic list that you have yet to view.

Aside from film, this author additionally regularly gives advice regarding audio video furniture and stereo cabinets.
